Terminal KOSICE (SK)

METRANS started operation of this terminal in September 2007. The facility is located in the eastern Slovakia in the industrial area of KOSICE (the second largest Slovak city), and its location predestines it not only for Slovakia, but also for eastern Hungary and western Ukraine cargo flow.
In 2008 METRANS handled on Terminal KOSICE – Velka Ida in total 44.090 TEUs and it is expected that the volume will grow as the area nearby is predominantly export-oriented and it is of great benefit to cut the costs, as with import to eastern Hungary and export from eastern Slovakia meets the requirements of „interchange depot“ between Hungary and Slovakia, whithout any further costs like depot feeding.
